The beginning of any project starts with a gauge.

So what is a gauge?

A gauge is the number of stitches and rows in a defined area. In this I am doing a 4x4 gauge or a 10x10 cm within the square. So I am measuring the height and the width. This will reveal the tension.

Doing a gauge is important because it will ensure the garment will fit. Also it will let you know by doing some math how much yarn you need before you start the project. Knowing that you won't run out of yarn.

This gauge will be the beginning of a knitted onesie for Mollie.

Stay tuned 🐶
